The Rev. Herbert Sanderson has been assisting priest at Grace Church since 2002. He recently
retired from his work as a psychologist, both in private practice and with agencies. Most of his ordained ministry has
been in special projects where a full-time priest was not required and where there was a distinct advantage in having a pastor
who worked concurrently in the community. His ministry at Grace Church is centered on playing the organ.
Fr.
Herbert holds a PhD from the University at Albany, an MDiv from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale, as well as bachelor and
masters degrees from Boston University. He has three grown children and three grandchildren. Fr. Herbert lives with
his wife, Anne, on an old farm in Melrose. He is an ardent harpsichord and organ player and spends much of his free
time making music with friends who are, for the most part, early music enthusiasts.
