The Rev’d Katherine G. Alonge-Coons (Kathy Coons) has lived in the capital district for her entire life.  She is a graduate with an MDiv from St Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry. Kathy is a graduate of Siena College – BA Sociology (1980) and SUNYA School of Social Welfare – MSW (1984).  Kathy is employed at Rensselaer County Unified Services, Troy, NY, where she has worked for twenty plus years and serves as the Director of Children and Family Services. Kathy is married to Earl Coons.  The couple has two young adult daughters, Melissa and Grace.

The Coons family resides in Lansingburgh (Troy, NY). Earl is an independent home improvement contractor. Melissa graduated from Quinnipiac University in May 2005 and is employed at Vicarious Visions in Menands, NY. Grace is a graduate of the Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing, Hudson Valley Community College, and Maria College. She is currently pursuing nursing studies at SUNY Utica.  The home parish for the Coons Family is Grace Church, Waterford, N.Y., where they have worshipped for over 25 years. 

During her years at Grace Church, Kathy has served in many aspects and capacities of ministry, which include but are not limited to: warden, vestry member, healing ministry, intercessor, adult ed leader, acolyte, Jr High/High School Sunday School teacher, convention deputy, stewardship, and capital fund drive. 

Mother Kathy was ordained a priest on January 7, 2006 at Grace Church.  In December 2007 Mother Kathy officially became our Vicar.  Kathy enjoys time with her family, traveling, reading, walking, and occasional bike riding.
